Hey fellas! I bought an 806 gas about 3 weeks ago and have some questions. Electrical problems right away, snipped and removed about 12' of useless wire. Only gauge that works is tach. would like to have all the gauges working. How can I tell if a particular gauge is working, and I am wondering about a whole new wiring harness. I spent just short of a dollar less than I had on this tractor so I will need to take my time fixing, thoughts? Also, this came with a dual loader, which the prev owner just bought and installed. He said they had a restricter valve on the loader. I don't see anything that would indicate that. However, the main arms raise and lower extremely slow. I have tried switching hoses around to different outlets, same thing. Should I look at the pump, or is there such a thing as a restiricter valve inside the cylinder? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! You guys are the best!

From the factory, an 806 only has two guages- the tach on the left, and the fuel/water temp/AMP/OIL cluster on the right. If any part of that cluster is bad, the whole thing is junk. Usually the tube between the water temp sender and the guage gets damaged, ruining the whole cluster. If your temp guage works, check out the fuel guage- ground the wire going to the sending unit and put power to the other terminal, the guage should move to "full". If those two parts of the cluster work, it's good, since the AMP and OIL warning lights use common replacable light bulbs.

As for the restrictors in the hydraulics, sometimes they put a fitting on th ecylinders with a small hole as a restrictor orfice. They can be drilled out a little at a time to let it work at the speed you want, if you don't want it as fast as the hydraulics will run it without a restriction. Probably on the lift side of the cylinders, so if a hose breaks, etc, it won't slam down.

You should be able to tell if a gauge is working
by looking at it. It should move if its oil pressure, temp or amps. That's why they have gauges so you can tell if the oil pressure is low,
temp gauge so you don't overheat the engine, and an amp meter or an idiot light to alert you if the alternator or generator quit working. Could have some gauges on the transmission too. Hal

el toro, thanks for your reply, what if there are no wires hooked to the gauges? I don't know exactly how I should go about testing the gauges?
