Well usally the culprits are the bakelight washers. Where the wires hook up you have to make sure that nothing is getting close to the aluminum check for cracks in the wire insulation where it goes into the coil, Is the brass washer under the screw that holds the point base down? I have never seen the internal rotor on a J4 or H4 loose its charge unless it was a special cirumstance. So I really highly doubt it will be that.I have had a few that I scratch my head over also and I have rebuilt a lot of them every once in a while you get one that just defys the odds but I have not had any beat me yet. Try a new condenser.Clean inbetween the points with some berrymans or equivelent and file never sand the points. Let me know how you make out. JON

Inspected the bakelite washer and it is broken. Do you know where I can get a new one? I don"t know if this is the only problem, but it sure needs replaced. Does the brass washer go between the stationary point and the screw or between the stationary point and the housing? I do not have a brass washer in either place.

You can probly order a washer from the casedealer I cant remember the one online is it Cng or something like Carter and greunwald. It goes on the screw like a regular washer would. You look at it and you will say what will that do but believe me it works sometimes.
