Well, the guy who has been painting tractors for me must have had a brain fart because he painted the entire Mag, wires, plugs etc.

Now the tractor looks like a jewel but it don't run. Plan on going to work on it tomorrow. Any suggestions are welcome on what all I need to do.

Thanks

Probly grounding through paint on the kill wire on the side of the mag. Its the stud that sticks out on the side with the little nut on it. Its grounding through the paint. Id scrap the paint off around it and see if you got fire then. just my thoughs....

You need to check your impulse coupling for dried paint too. This may prevent the prevent the snapping action you get from the impulse coupling
during the initial start from your mag. Hal

I would check fire at the coil wire by removing it from the cap and hold it within 1/4" of a good ground and have someone try to start the engine.
If you have good fire here then check at the plugs for fire. If there's good spark here and no start, clean the tips of the sparkplugs of any paint. If there's no fire you need to clean all those ignition wire connections of any paint. It makes a good insulator. Hal
