H model radiator and fuel tank

Looking for advice from those who know.

1. The radiator on my 43 H is leaking badly. Fluid seems to be coming out all over at the top of the unit versus just one spot. The horizontal fins are deteriorated badly and in some places are non existant. I don"t have a clue as to how bad they can be and still be restored. Any body got any suggestions?

2. The fuel tank inner walls on the same machine are lined with rust. I want to get rid of the rust so I don"t have a clogged line and full sediment bowl. I was going to stick a big chain in it to knock off the heavy stuff by swirling it around but it appears to have a baffle wall in it that is prohibits getting to most of the tank. Ideas if you got them please.

A couple gallons of muriatic acid will make that tank look brand new inside, for vey little expense. Just be very careful.

Sorry Rusty. No, No, No.Not muriatic acid for steel. PHOSPHORIC acid. That's what comes in the body shop supply houses "metal prep" solutions. After application you need to rinse. But he needs to really get a different tank. A clean one. There are easily found. I even have several.

Find a Tank and Radiator in better shape. I have 7 good radiators laying down at the shop, and four good tanks across the road. Parts are everywhere. Spend more time using the tractor and less time fighting with badly worn, rusty parts. Put an add on the classifieds. You will get numerous replies quickly.
