Does anyone know of a replacement seal for the brake shaft on an H Farmall? I have the shaft out and was going to replace the seals. Case told me they were no longer available.
Also, I saw one of the new Farmall line at the Case dealership. Not very impressive. Plastic hood, has anyone used one?

Thanks, guys. Guess I'll try the NAPA. Got to go into Dallas anyway.
By the way, he did run them thru and the seals and a couple of snap rings for the countershaft bearing and trans main shaft came back as NLA

I Suppose the Case-IH NLA for the seals is possible, but I have never been told that by my dealer for ANY seal, and I have replaced a lot of them -- other sources are cheaper, anyway.

Yes, first time the NLA ever popped up for me too. I try to get the real thing when possible. And the price is better in the long run and the parts always fit. My Case dealer thinks I'm building a H Farmall from parts. Sometimes I think so too. I have three, two I use and one I work on.

The seals can be bought at any Case-IH dealer, including yours, or crossed to the National or Chicago numbers by almost anyone. The IH part number is (3 of them, all work) is 48498D/358777R91/360252R91. All your dealer has to do is enter the number in his computer. If not in stock, his distribution center will get them in a day or two. The new Farmall line is about the same as the New Holland tractors of the same size, with red paint.

Talk turkey to your IH parts person. I bought those seals over the counter within the last 6 months or so. The parts person can do a little research for older numbers if they would only take a little time. Find the oldest/most experienced parts person also helps.

My NAPA store crossed them to #11170. Good Luck...Randy

Call your local industrial bearing and seal house and give 'em the IHC seal part number. They can cross it with a National or Chicago Rawhide equivalent. If they don't have the seal in stock they can get it for you quickly.

I've had very good luck with Kaman Industrial for both IHC and Minnie Mo bearings and seals. They have a branch office right across the road from where I work, and their pricing is better than the CIH dealer too!
