third party image

A Farmall F-12 with a Harley engine.

Has no practical value that I could determine, but still an interesting exercise/demonstration of fabrication and mechanical skills. The guy did some nice work on it.

Not my cup O' tea, but like my ol' Daddy used to say "different strokes for different folks"

From the 57th Thresherman's Reunion show at Rough & Tumble, Kinzers Pa, two weeks ago.

Is that from a farm around Sturgis? I think it would have to have a second seat behind the first so the "ole lady" could ride too.

That is awesome. Why the heck not? There are F-12 all over, sacraficing one to the chop shop would be ok.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that it is an air cooled engine that relies on speed to move air through it and cool it. It would run tight before long, I"d think. maybe even during a parade!

That evolution motor probably puts out between 70 and 80 horsepower all stock.

Looks better that way than sitting in some fence somewere rusting away. To each their own. If the owners happy thats all that matter. I think it looks neat, would i do that to any of my tractor, no. But I'm not that smart either. The old girl looks great.

If I had the time and the money I might do something similar. Like someone else said, it's better than letting it rust away.

Saw an 8N that had been converted to FWD, power steering and using a 289 Ford V8...
Looked pretty cool - but don"t know how practical it would be on the "working" side of things...

This is an interesting conversion - it"s amazing what some people can do with their skills.

That motor would sure perk the old girl up! neat idea for the alternator, but I gotta wonder why not just use the Harley one.
