What's the rpms of the belt pulley on a my Farmall BN. Thinking of using it to run hyd. pump, or is that just nuts? Don't want to use pto cause then can't use pto and hyd. at same time.

How fast do you need to run your pump as that will determine the sizes of pulleys needed you dont want to have to run the engine full speed to get the desired hy pressure and flow just figure on the BNs pulley at 900 at 2/3 throtle. I use the CHAR-LYNN power pacs on the pto and have both single and two-way hy@900 psi and 10 gpm works well. The CHAR-LYNN is not to exceed 750rpm.

I know of an H that a tractor dealer has for a yard tractor and they have a hydraulic pump mounted to the belt pulley. Only an idea but why not mount a pump on the front that is attached to the crank, then you will have live hydraulics. I have been toying with that idea for my W6.

That front mounting will work a your W-4, 6, or 9 but can't on H or M because of different type of steering, there is not room to allow for shaft to connect to front of crankshaft.
