You ain't gonna get a good answer kicking and screaming and pouting like a 5-year-old, that's for sure...

Remember that you get what you pay for, and the advice on this forum is FREE. If you can't stand a little good-natured ribbing or an incorrect answer, then you don't need to be here. Sorry to be harsh, but when I hear people whining and complaining about stuff they get for FREE, it really lights my fuse.

Couple of quick comments, not trying to be an a@#, just trying to help educate.

First, when you type in all caps, you are yelling, tends to torque some people off...

Second, this topic comes up ones a month or so, if you do a quick search (admittedly, this board"s search is not the greatest, but works pretty well) you would see plenty of comments on white H"s, M"s...

Third, welcome, enjoy the board, there are lots of smart people here who have probably already forgotten more than I ever knew...you will find the answer to most questions you might come across, although IH did some things "just because" and nobody has an answer...

Too many responses come from old wives tales and the ever popular I THINK. There are lots of articles that have bad info also. If you dont know the fact there should not be any reply.

Frank: I have read your other thread and all responces. While I agree you maybe didn't get great answers, none of the respondants were wrong either. I think you may owe these guys an appology. They aren't what you call them. Sometimes I think some guys think the only right answer, is what they want to hear. Sorry friend, it just don't work that way.

Now CNKS has given you the absolute right answer, excepting the fact IH would probably paint the tractor any color you wanted. Probably even add polka dots, if you wanted.

If you supplied the the extra $ the factory would paint a tractor any color a customer wanted. There is a book out that details custom color Farmall"s.

I haven't read your original post -- there is all sorts of stuff in the archives about this. The only white demo Farmalls were the Cub, Super A, and C, produced in the first quarter of 1950. Merely a promotion by IH to call attention to their tractors.

Frank, I can only tell you I have a 1958 Farmall 340 that I beleive was repainted once, it's now the prettiest shade of pink you ever saw. I can't wait to paint it. I beleive the red pigment is fading out of the white base. LOL PUTTER

Ill try not to sound like an A$$hoel, but NO Farmall Hs were painted white,in the term "white" we know as demonstrators. Only certain tractors in 1950 were painted white, the H was not one of them. What you found was most likely a primer, but if indeed it was white, then someone either ordered alot of white ones, or someone painted it white for whatever reason. I have though, seen someone paint an H or M with the white and put the stars and such on it. Its kinda sad really, some people accually believe its a true demonstrator. I hope Ive done a good job explaining it to you.

Some guys think some question are silly. Some of us have been around tractors for a long time, some of us not so long.

It could have been a primer on the metal or just bad faded paint, no farmalls where ever white.
