Brakes Sticking

Ok,

I replanced the brakes on my 350 at the begining of summer. At first everything worked wonderfully. Then they started squeking. Now they lock up when I apply them and I need to put the tractor in reverse (or forward if I was already going in reverse when the brakes were applied) and drive back before the brakes will loosen up.

What happened? I didn"t oil or grease anything. Is this my problem.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

have a super C that did the same EXACT thing. We cleaned the balls a thousand times with no sucess. Repalced them, and have never had a problem since. My dad and decided that even though the looked fine a small amount of wear must make the difference.

No oil or grease needed - these are discs...
Sounds like a pedal adjustment to me. when you apply the brakes, is the caliper inside the housing being forced open to far, thereby locking up and not wanting to return to the disengaged position?
I don't mean to sound like a know it all - which I ain't - but are the pedal return springs connected? Is it just one side or does it happen when the pedal bar is flipped and both brakes are used simultaneously?
'Bout all I can think of - they're pretty simple mechanical parts...

C'mon all you brake experts...

Could be lots of things mentioned above. OR More like balls and springs need cleaned inbetween the disc (the caliper) OR what we found out on our 400 was the brake shaft witch the disc slide on have grooves in them dad took a smale file and filed them smooth and no problems for about 3 years now!

Work perfect, we tried new balls-springs, oil-grease-dry silicone lube(all at different times) new disc adjusted them tight-loose. No luck for about 10-15 years. It does get flustrating having to back up every time you use the brakes. Good luck! Let us know what you do to help!

If none of those seem to be the problem.Take the brake expanders out,and take'em to a machine shop that can re-surface them to original thickness where the discs wear. That'll fix'er right up.
