I have a farmall B. Starts up good. Problem is it cuts out after shredding just a few minutes. It will start up again, but will die after a few seconds. Carb has been rebuilt. New cap, rotor, and plugs also. I have also noted that when you throttle up the engine will not throttle up much. When the shredder puts the engine in a bind the govner does not kick engine up. Please help if anyone has suggestions?

You need to check your gas flow by loosening the
gas line at the carburetor. Should have a good flow not just a trickle. If flow is good you need to check for blockage at the carburetor inlet. Could have a screen plugged. If that carburetor has a main jet adjusting screw, turn it
ccw to open one full turn. This would allow more gas to your engine under load. Hal

I have had a similar problem with mine and it turned out to by holes rusted out in the intake portion of the manifold.

My BN did about the same thing and it was fuel. Cleaned/rebuilt carb twice and no help. Bought new Zenith carb and ran good for awhile then bad again. Took sediment bowl out of tank and used fine window screen to make a cylinder shape to fit into top of bowl. Crimp over the top. Whole thing about 3" long. Keeps debris from tank from passing. Once I did this problem solved and has run great all summer. An old fellow at a tractor show told me to try this and it worked.

My farmall B did the same, and my problem was also fuel. The tank is easy to remove. I had a radiator shop boil it out and I now have no problems. Fuel treatment or stabilizor might be a good idea to keep water out and rust from re-developing in tank

Sounds like a fuel problem and or carb problem. Even if the carb has been rebuilt it can still be the problem. Sounds like main jet is still clogged or not getting fuel as it should or both
