I have a 4166 (with the DT436) that has been acting up. After running a couple of hours, the engine will starve for fuel, dog down and then die. Doesn"t want to restart. Sometimes you can save it by getting the clutch in and letting it "catch it"s breath". If you let it idle for a while to cool down, or if it quit entirely, come back after an hour or two, it will start right up and be good to go again for a while, "til it warms up good again. So, I changed out both fuel filters, air filter is clean, no crud in the tank because I replaced the bottom of the tank recently. The engine itself is really solid- no excess blowby or oil usage. Same problem. The tractor, as long as I"ve owned it, never has been a great starter, and it always seemed kind of gutless to me. The pump still has the seals on it, so it"s not been changed. I know that these pumps can be turned up easily, but I"ve never done that. So, by any chance, is there anything that can be done to help this thing out, or am I due for a rebuilt pump? Would "turning it up" help anything at this point? Is there a way to test and repair the "charge pump" that supplies fuel to the injection pump, or is that integral with the injection pump? Will FEMA send donations to "injection pump victims"? Paul
