Purchased a IH2050 from the local IH dealer for my 706. He said it came off a 656 and should just need a modification to the brackets (square to hex axel) to fit a 706. After picking up the loader it appears to have been shortened and is 15 - 18 inches short of the axel. Any thoughts.... Does anyone have an operator manual that would show how it is to be connected (ie. should the arms go under the axel or just up to the axcel)?
I have pictures online if you would like to see it. Not sure how to post the pictures.
Thanks,
Kent

I have a brochure that shows the 2050 (series A) loader as being designed for 454, 574, 464, and 674 tractors. In my opinion,if it came off a 656, it was modified to fit the 656. It will require more modification to fit a 706. I have an operators manual for a 2000 loader that shows the axle mounting system for both 656 and 706. I can scan and send to you. Reply if interested.

Not to go off topic, but seeing that nice picture made me think of the JD 146 loader on my 706. Im not know as Farmall Don in these parts, but people think its funny calling me red-green. Its getting old, but that seems to make it more of a joke. Im thinking about painting it white and tell them I switched it out and see if anyone notices. Im afraid it will be a real joke then. Any suggestions?

third party image

the 2000 loader on my 706 goes just up to the axle. a large u-colt then goes around the axle. i believe a 656 is a tad shorter than a 706 so you may have to extend/build the arms out a bit. dunno for sure. i'll get a picture of it tonight if you wish. let me know.
