Which actual tractor does this toy most closely resemble? I'm planning to repair/restore/customize it, and would like to get the details as correct as reasonably possible. It's a 1/16th scale ERTL, and what's left of the decal on the front edge of the cab roof says "Magnum".

Seeing as it's newer than a Super M, I'm pretty much clueless...

Now 14, has the grandson been taking that one up into the hills too? LOL.

The picture isn't real clear to get some of the details but it looks like it could be a 7110 or 7120 Case IH Magnum but it could be a 7210 or 7220 cause the cab filter housing on the back of the cab roof is red and not black like the earlier Magnums were. I'm guessing it would be a smaller Magnum cause the front axle looks like a two wheel drive and not a MFD model. I think Ertl made the bigger models with MFD only but I could be wrong. The possibilities could be anything else in the 7100, 7200, and 8900 series tractors. Hope this helps you out and I would like to see a picture of it after you get it fixed up what ever way you do it.

Thanks, that'll help a lot. I can look up pictures of the full-size versions of the models you listed and see which comes the closest.

It's definitely 2WD. I'm planning to dual it up and put high-floatation tires/wheels on the front.

If it comes out any kind of decent at all, I'll post some pix. Likely be a while, as I've decided that tractor and a couple of diecast trucks I have are my "winter project".

If I'm not mistaken they had 4 rib tires on these so they could be like the floaters that you want to put on. Unless you have something different in mind. Fixing and modifying toys seems like a good winter hoby, mine is drawing after work when I feel like it. Lately my drawings have been nice lookin gals and since I'm single I see nothing wrong with it.

I Googled up some pix of 7110's, and it definitely looks like that's the one. Only pic of a 7210 I could find in 2WD was too small, but looked essentially the same.

Got good right and left side shots, so that gives me pretty much all I need to go on. They both had pretty big tires on the front, so the floaters will be a reasonable mod.

Thanks for the help!
