Hi guys I was wondering if anyone can help me out here. I decided to hook the SM to the 7 or 8 foot off set discs this morning and the tractor has 15.5 s on here with the wide rims and three wheel weights per side. OK I am having a bounceing problem and it actually bounces the discs enough to make small hills or ruts and its a pain in the but. I dont have drags to smooth out when I am done and my bed springs are worn out that I used to pull be hind they just keep loosing springs now . What do you think is causing this I dont have excesive air in the tires. Do I need to weight the discs down or something. I never had this problem with the H pulling them. JON

Jon - Not sure what kinda soil you're in, but it sounds like you need to: 1 - slow down, and 2 - add weight over the disks.

Maybe also get an old RR tie, section of phone pole, scrap of 8" or bigger steel pipe, etc. to drag behind behind the disk and help smooth things down.

If it is a wheel dick, use the wheels to moderate the bounce, lowering them till it quits. If it is a old non-wheel pull type with a trip to straight, try weight on the front gang and less on the back. Also using a different angle may reduce bounce. It is all in the frequency of the natural movement of the disk. Changing to a SM probably allows a gear up, thus it enters bounce. Good luck and let us know what fixes it.
