I had that problem 30 years ago and ended up putting a 36HP VW engine in my F30. I used the VW clutch and a 3/1 chain driven speed reduction. Aside from the noisey chain it worked very well and didn"t need any radiator, antifreeze, constant fiddling, etc.

Well price for one. I figure by the time I bie on and have it shiped hear, and cross my fingers that it has no hidden cracks I will have way more in this old gal than she would ever be worth. Since it would not be numbers matching any more. Around hear I can get a good running 390 ford big block for only about $350. Would make something diferant! By the way what would you get for a good engine, or block?
Thanks

In the early days of tractor pulling quite a few F-20s and even some F-30s recieved V8 engines from various makes and models of cars, Chevy, Buick, Olds, you name it and someone has done it. Several of these conversions even used the automatic transmission that came with the engine, in order to allow the engine to operate at higher RPMs without overspeeding the tractor. Don't see why it couldn't be done the same way today.
