Could someone tell what the correct viscosity oil to use. I have order the manuals, but would like to change the oils. Engine, transmission, etc.

For the transmission, it takes 90wt. gear lube. If you cannot find straight 90wt., then, in cooler climates, you can use 75w-90; in hot climates, or in a truly hard working tractor, you could use 85w-140 (some companies call it 80W-140). For hobby use, I like 75w-90.

I always tell guys to use the same oil they use in their car or pickup. No use keeping more than one kind of oil around.

I agree with that concept up to a point. Todays car and truck engines are built to much tighter tolerances than a 50 year old tractor, so the 5w-30 works good in cars and trucks, but I don't think 5 weight is what I want in my tractors. Some of the newer Ford vehicles actuall use 0w-20, or something like that, when you pour it out of the bottle it looks just water. I will not put that oil in any tractor. 10w-40 would be OK, 15w-40 would also be OK.

Sae 15-40 is what I believe in. If it is fresh and new inside I use AmsOil synthetic.
