Heat Riser....

Just wondering, if you stand and look at the manifold side of the engine (on a 460), which way is the heat riser closed, if you turn it left or right? In other words, which way is it when the engine is cold and which way does it turn when the engine warms up? Thank you!

Capt If I remember right the spring goes from the pin up and clockwise around the shaft, The weight on the valve cover side should be straight up and move forward on top or clockwise when hot or if you move it by hand to see if it moves.
