I was going to build a M&W 9 Spd puller, but now I have found a Super MTA. I need to know what it is worth. Ower wants $3000.00. It Runs good, rebuilt 6 years ago, carb rebuilt last year. Has c & m wide front. IH model 33 loader. Dual rears. TA is good. Tractor has original paint and decals but are faded, will need restored. No fenders. Live hydralics, with resevaur. Belt pulley. Tires all look good. Comes with a IH 10 or 12 foot wide disk. It looks good has newer hydralic cylinder. I don't want loader, wide front or disk. If I sell these items what are they worth? And will that make tractor a better price. Thanks.

Junkman, I don't know where the rest of these guys are at and they may be trying to hipe the value of their own equipment but the price he's asking you is about right in this area of the midwest. Maybe a little on the low side if its in the condition you described and the loader and disc are of value. Good luck...

Better jump on it but it should be a fedral crime to destroy a S/MTA for a puller just to go and try and win a 10 dollar trophie . I have turned down 10000 for my S/MTA and laughed at a guy for offern 5000 cash .

If you get and want to sell the loader and disc and possible the wide front let me know I've got a 400 that I want a wide front to replace the narrow front. It might also help to know where you live, I'm in central Indiana. David

Hmmmmm m , lets see - you can sell the loader , disc & wide front for at least a $1000..... the tractor would fetch around $3500 advertised right here on YT - or it'd bring close to $5000 on e-bay - OR , one (similar) just sold at a live auction for $9300 , but that one had the original IH wide front , so yours (comparatively) would only bring around $8000 ..... ..maybe you'd best not stick your neck out that far - just let me know where it's at & i might just take the "gamble" !!!

Are you kidding? If numbers line up, BUY IT.
Or better yet, let me buy it. I'll send you $100 just for telling me where it is.

Don't prokrastenata, on that one to long. A rough one sold on a farm sale about 6 weeks ago, that brought 3300. Last winter at a salave yard there was SMTA diesel, that was stuck. He was asking 5500 fir it.

I'd be jumping on that deal if it as you describe. The value of the MTA just keeps getting stronger even though there were less of some other I.H. models made. Just the last of that era and the first TA I guess. My brother was just offered 7000 for his unrestored MTA and turned it down. I would surely take a good second look in person if it was me, just to make sure the right casting codes are still in tact. Migraine

I bought mine in nov 2001 and i paid $4150 with a like new owners manual, It was a extremely clean iowa tractor that need its oem paint removed and new paint put on, I done it completely over in 55 hrs put a new seat on it,and 2 years ago i went to a sale with a smta that sold for $9500 and i went back home look at mine and thought to myself I have a nicer SMTA than one that sold for $9500, So if you can buy it for that price don't wait or some one elese will have it!!!

I bought tractor. Will pick it up Sunday. It runs great. It needs a few things but nothing major. I got a 1990 6 foot pull type bushhog with it instead of disk. I do want to get rid of wide front and model 33 Loader. I can Email some pictures by Monday. One question I have is hood decal just has a Super over a MTA,in a circle. It doesn't look like most of the decals I have seen, with the wing attached to circle. Any one know why?

The decal you describe (round, without wings) indicated a Super M-TA without the TA. Sounds goofy, I know, but a Super M-TA without TA is still a Super M-TA! Guy Fay had an article about this some time ago.
