Farmall A Exhaust Lift-All ?

I have a 1947 Farmall A with an exhaust lift for the cultivators. I was wondering if any parts are available for this system. I think that I can get it working again as is but it probably will not be sealed well enough to hold the cultivators up. If anyone one has any information on this system or information on A-134 cultivators and how they go on a Farmall A it would be very helpful.
~thanks, Corey

What parts do you think you need? I have been using these systems since 1948? Would be glad to help you get it working again. People run the system down because they just dont know. If you let anything set outside and dont take care of it sonner or later problems will show up. I have read all kinds of reports but have never read any from someone who has used them. Send me an e-mail and i will be glad to help.

Yes, parts are available. There was a complete unit on E-Bay a few weeks ago. It went for a pretty penny. Just be patient. Just post what items you need and I'm sure someone will have them. My B has exaust lift and it holds the cults up. The system worked well when new but corrosion slowly take its toll so you've got to keep it clean. Its a great conversation piece at shows. Hope this helps.

Let me recommend highly the September-October 2003 issue of Red Power Magazine. There is a comprehensive article in there which was recommended to me by the author when I was looking at adding this to my Farmall B. Parts are available hit or miss on e-bay but the two times that I tried to buy them the same guy outbid me and, let me tell you, money was no object to this fella. After trying to buy parts, reading the article, and looking at the pictures of the unit, I decided that pneumatic lift-alls were something I could live without. I'll be looking at manual lift implements.

I had the manual lift on my Farmall A and I didn't think it was that difficult to to raise and lower the plow and that was the 16-inch plow.

My dealership,Village Power Equipment, in Berlin,Mass keeps a lot of the old exhaust gas lift parts on hand.We started back in 1956 and are now CaseIH parts only but service lots of old Farmalls. If you know what part numbers you need I may be able to help. Our phone number is 978-838-2484, fax 978-838-2140. If you don't have part numbers just call and I'll figure it out. Regards, Charley

Charley,
I'm the guy that wrote the Red Power article. I have been going to bug my local dealer to see if a couple parts are still available. Perhaps you can tell us:
15214E control valve seat
15184E piston cup.
From my experience, these are 2 of the most critical parts for having a system that will stay up.

I had my B with cultivators at a show this summer. Word got around that it actually worked and I spent half the day starting the tractor just to demo the lift.

I just got two of the 15214E from dealer a week ago. I can get leather and make the piston cup. Do you want me to send a piece?

Gene, thanks for the offer but I am OK right now. I did have a cylinder start leaking last spring and I just grabbed another cylinder I had kicking around.

I was mainly just curious about availability because I haven't had to get either of those parts in a LONG time.
