Joe: If you have or can get an original IH operators manual. I know all the 100% US built tractors had an excellent diagram in the operators manual. I realize your 454 has a lot of British components, maybe even completely British with Lucas electrical. Some of those tractors were assembled at Louisville using Delco electrical. I'm not sure if 454 was assembled at Louisville.

I would think IH included that diagram in manual regardless of where tractor was assembled. Just watch that if buying a manual, make sure you get the right one. Tractors I am most familiar with are Farmalls and they all had excellent diagrams for wiring.

I do have the manual it has an excellent wiring diagram. I dont know how to read it. it may as well be in chineese. I have never done electrical work I always had some one to do it all but he has passed away and now I am lost.
the tractor had an electrical fire before I bought it. there is no electricals except a starter motor a battery and a start switch. there is an alternator but it is not hooked up . it looks like its from a gmc

Joe: Do you know if the starter, start switch, battery and alternator are good? Were those items in the fire, or have they been replaced since fire? Number 1 would be, if you don"t already know, have those items checked.

Have you looked at Bob M"s diagrams under articles here at YT. Compare those with your diagram. That could be helpful. If need be call on Bob himself. He is very good on these electrical problems.

Joe,
It is probable that, unless you are neighbors, the transportation costs might be twice the cost of finding a good local electrical repair person. Tractors are so easy to work on that an auto electric person will jump at the chance.
Local retired electrical workere are a good option. try the local senior center. I'll bet someone there knows someone who will love the challange and do it correctly. My two cents, JimN
