I spot this nice little hydro 70, right? I think it would be a fun old tractor to fix up. Shouldn't take much, right?

Guys, the Hydro 70 sets off all by itself as far as sheet metal goes. Nothin' interchanges with it.

I just ordered a new radiator grille screen and grille. Believe me fellas, ya really don't wanna go there..... ... :>(

I think the tractor"s demensions are the same as the old narrow 656 but the sheet metal and so forth has the newer style "squared-off" look to it like the 66s and the 86s. That put"s "em off by themselves.

All I know is that the radiator screen and the plastic grill cost me over $400. A year ago, I bought the same pieces for my 966 and it came at a cost of $100.

I tried the salvage yards and they won"t let "em go because they save and use the parts to build up complete tractors because they are in such a high demand now.

I was sure thinking about you this morning when I ordered those parts afer exhausting every salvage yard in this country.

Heck, usually parts will cross models and model years. Take the Hydro 86 fer instance. Many of it's parts will cross over to the 686 or to the 666. Not this one. This silly guy stands there all alone.

For these particular parts, they were exactly 4 times higher than their counterparts on a 966. :>(

So, I guess what I'm saying is that if a feller had the choice, maybe pick another tractor other than the Hydro 70 to doll up. :>)

Although, I did find a nice set of used fenders (I think) at a pretty reasonable price and tires on this little guy are way cheaper than the larger sizes are.
