I have a 1946 Farmall H that still has the H-4 magneto.I have not started it for about a month .When I tried to start it she wouldnt start.I checked the fire and it wasnt getting any.I took the magneto off and spun it and it is barely firing, obviously not enough to start the tractor.I can hold the coil wire in my hand and it hardly gives a jolt when you spin it.What can I do to get the old spark back?

Does the magneto "snap" when you are rotating it? If not, clean the impulse coupler. The mag must rotate very rapidly to make a spark. The impulse coupler catches and the spring winds up as you turn the coupler in the correct direction of rotation; when it "trips" the spring rapidly rotates the internal magnet producing a strong spark. When the engine runs, centrifugal force takes the impulse coupler out of action since the normal engine speed is sufficient to produce the desired spark. This is why you may hear the magneto "clicking" when the engine idles very slowly or you may hear the "clicking" as the engine is shut down.

If points and condenser doesn't help you may need new coil. Pull the cover off the coil and check
those magnets for magnetism using a flat blade screwdriver. They should attract that screwdriver
with some effort. Hal

I'd check/clean the points. Then go from there, maybe even replace the points and condenser.
