Last week I wrote about my M dying. Due to rain all week, today I finally got to finding the problem. When I pulled out the distibutor, I found the distributor gear pin missing. I feel lucky I did not have to go too deep. I pulled the plate off the bottom of the housing to find the loose pieces, i found really thick oily crud. I'd guess it was the original oil. I found the pieces I was looking for but now need to refill the housing with oil.
Would 90w work? How full should it be? None of my books have any information.

Thanks in advance-Steve

I would use engine oil, that's what's used in your engine. These parts are lubed from the engine oil pump. Hal

Theres a little plug on the side of that housing that you can replace with a zerk and fill it with greese

Yes, remove that plug and replace with a grease zerk, but be careful to not overfill. Your grease gun will pump easily at first, but pump the handle slowly, and when you feel resistance, stop pumping. The housing is full of grease now, and shouldn't need anymore for about a year.
