I like them never had problem with mine sticking or working loose but do not use tractors that much and they stay in shed. Had one on SM for years and bought one for M at Red Power Roundup this year.

Like many things, depends on what you want to do. I have one on my M and it works fine, however like many things I own has been modified. The habit that mine had was that the friction disk would like to stick to both the throttle arm and the mounting making it difficult to move, and then when you got it broke loose wouldn’t stay where I put it. I went to two friction disks, now they can both stick to the iron and not bind up the throttle. I put on a heavier spring and now the throttle stays put where I want it. Now, I think it’s as good (or better) than the stock one IH came out with.

Hi Lynn,

'Member when John Deere used that set up on their 50s, 60s and 70s? They were always working towards being too loose. :>)

Sure worked fine when they were cinched up tho.

Never owned a green tractor, but the neighbor friend of mine had a couple of 60 JD's. Yup, they were always working loose, but those old sawtoothed IH ones were always looking like they needed dentures :>) ! Not sure which one was worse!
