Well I will PROMPTLY order my "Greenhorn" Sweatshirt tomorrow . CaptainK , you hit the Nail on the head. I did Remove the 3 Bolts holding the Pressure Plate down and The Clutch fits snug . I am Tackling my First Engine rebuild on a Super M , and Learning a Lot. Thanks For the advice.

Jak,

'Taint nothin' wrong with that. Everyone has to do his first one sometime.

If ya get cornered, give a hollar, 'cause there are some pretty sharp ol' boys hangin' out here. They are forever helpin' me on my little projects.

Good luck on your build and shoot us some pictures?

Allan

The distance from the step to flywheel face is 1.406.

Are there three bolts in the pressure plate assembly holding the pressure plate away from the clutch? These bolts are located in the radius between the spring holders. If these bolts are installed, the clutch will float free.

I don’t know the measurements off the top of my head, but the machine shop should have resurfaced the area where the pressure plate bolts to the flywheel the same as the clutch surface.
