Positve / Negative ground?

I have a 300 converted to 12 volt. Bought it this way. It is negative grounded. Is this correct?

Scott, if it works and it keeps the battery charged, I agree with Rusty, it must be correct.

Other issues to take a look at, does it have a working ammeter?? If its wired correct it should swing over to - discharge if shes not runnin n you turn on lights or ignition, but then, obviously, swing over to + charge when running if shes charging. Sometimes people convert from Pos to Neg ground and dont swap the ammeter leads causing them to read bass ackwards !!!

The ignition coil on a Negative ground system should be wire with its + from the switch and - to the distributor.

As far as I know 99.9% of alternators out there are Negative ground, cuz I think?? theres a manufacturer who offers some for Positive.

Thanks El Toro, I was thinkin someone had em. After I checked the web link you posted, I discovered I already had it saved as one of my favorites, but I never have occasion to go there and I tend to forget pretty quick nowadays lol

If it is equipped with an alternator it has to be negative ground, so yes, it is correct. Even if it is using a 12 volt generator I would still consider it correct.
