To follow up on my last question on tearing apart the hydro pump on the 52 Super A, I have loosened all the bolts that hold it together, undid the bolts holding the hydro lines coming into it. Now what to do next, and where is the seal that needs replacing? Do I have to remove the hydro lines at the other end where it's attached to the resevoir tank in order to remove the pump or will it come loose and off by just undoing the lines at the pump end? Thanks for any help on this as I need to get it fixed asap..7 in. of snow coming soon!!!

fenton: I think you have to unbolt the lines at both ends. They are just to rigid for the pump to come out by. There will be a gear on the shaft that is driven off the timing gears. That pump will have to come straight out for about 1.5" give or take a bit.

If you have hydraulic oil leaking from system into crankcase the seal on pump shaft is your problem. I've never had one of those apart. You should have some discussion with some others, CNKS is one guy I can think off hand, with experience on those. Some of those are quite simple to fix and other more difficult.

fenton: He must be out this evening, don't see him on the forum anywhere. If he doesn't show later this evening, start a new thread and direct question to him.
