I found my problem The power wire from the solenoid that feeds the ignition switch.. I changed all the wires in the harness except for a
small part that was in between the coil and the
regulator just couldn't get at it. The wire must have
been broken there as well. GRRRRR changed that wire
from start to finish and all is right with the world
again.
It was like an old Dodge I had checked the fuse... yup
it is good. Rip the dash all apart to find the
problem, just to find after hours and hours that the
fuse was bad the old glass type. The filament had
burned out right at the top behind the metal contact
where you could not see it. Live and learn ...live and
learn LOL

Most cars, old tractors and trucks all have that
same setup where the solenoid feeds voltage to the
ignition switch. Glad you found the problem.

I just received an email from a man in VA that had a Cub and couldn't get fire to the ignition.
He had emailed several weeks ago and I kept telling him to find the wire that goes to the
hot terminal on the solenoid and trace it.

He had just found a wire that was from the solenoid to the switch was broken and had been covered with black tape. The engine started right up. Hal

Togetherness: the art of achieving function, with few remaining parts.
I happy it worked out, JimN
