Found a baler couple weeks ago, was interested in the motor on it, looks good and turns over. Motor appears to be in reasonable condition. Was curious as to what motor they used on the old balers. This one looks simular to the one on a Farmall C. The reason I am curious is I got a call today telling me I can have the motor. Will get more info off of it tomorrow...Thanks

Keith & Shawn

It may be a Continental Y69, like the one I have. Tinwork is strictly IH, and the magneto cap and plug wire ends have the IH emblem moulded into them. Nice looking unit, I"m building a home-made tractor with it.

Our old 55T had a cub engine and our neighbors came with a "C" engine. Those balers were built in the middle 1950's.

If you could get model number from the baler would
help to pinpoint the engine. They used the C60,C113 and the C123 engine on the IH balers.
The models 37, 47 and the 57 may have used that
engine too. They use a lot of Wisconsin engines.

Hal, definently not a Wisconsin eng. I will look at it this morn, is there anything that I can use to identify motor, like a specific casting number, number stamped somewhere on motor,....ect.
Thanks

Keith

There should be a casting number on the block.
The model of the baler would help too. Hal

the cubic inches should be cast on the block like C123 that would tell the tale.
