I recently obtained a TD-6 dozer and I have no idea how the levers to put it in start. There is a small lever on the left side that looks like its hooked to the diesel side. This lever is straight up and down. There is a bigger lever closer to the middle that has a "T" type handle that works the diesel also. My question is which way do the levers go to start the machine on gas? Left lever back and the middle forward or the other way around.

Just one thing to add to what Ted said. Once you shut it down push the one lever/knob that you pulled out to start it back in, that helps keep from warpping the valves. Shoot if you drop me an e-mail I'll scan the page that tells you how to start it. O forgot that I still have an operators manual for a TD-6

scott-to start on gas which is the correct way to do it the handle on the left needs to be pulled back until itlocks.the t shaped middle handle also needs to be locked back and if my memory serves me correctly also serves as the throttle when running on diesel. With both levers back, use the choke and starter button to get it running(the gas has only fast idle speed).let it run on gas for 5 minutes or so to warm up and then quickly push each lever forward at the same time.you will immediately have to pull the middle lever back a little from all the way forward to obtain an idle. to shut it off do the opposite to let it run on gasoline a minute or so.one hint-shut off gasoline at tank when running on diesel as sometimes the manifolds dont seal and you might run a little gasoline while dieseling.i have a lot of hours on one of these a few years back-i wished i still had it!Please let me know how things work out!
