2pt prongs

Need to use a 3pt blade on my330u w/ a fast hitch. I've got some prongs off a old plow,my question is whats the length from the point of the prong to the center of the eye? Thanks Chuck K.

I have a set of factory 3 point adapters. They measure 14" from fast-hitch socket to the implement attaching point. You could make them shorter though.

The measurement from the end of the two-point socket to the center of the eye on my semi-standard adapter prongs is 10-1/2 inches. If you get it much closer, I'd expect your toplink isn't going to work, and hooking up to the PTO would be a real problem.

The 10-1/2" measurement is from the stop which keeps the prong from sliding any further into the socket.

Chuck: As I understand it, you are making your own 3 point adapter using fast hitch prongs off and old plow. Am I correct in assuming you trying to establish distance to holes for mounting the 3 point implement. I had two factory sets of these for Farmalls 300 and 560 and the holes for mounting 3 point equipment were about 10" from end of fast hitch socket.

I expect you could make those shorter for a Utility type tractor, the configuration being such that operator platform is further forward. The problem with these hitches on older type row crop tractors was implement striking the seat. You don't need to worry about that with the Utility and there is some benefit to having the implement closer to tractor.

Is there a possibility of making these protrude about 1' out of fast hitch socket. Then drill three holes in each for mounting the 3 point blade. Try it in each set of holes to see where you like it best. you can always shorten them later. I know if I were doing this, I would want that blade as close to rear of tractor as possible.
