My serial number tag on my Farmall H is just a plain metal tag with nothing else on it but 28846AJ .So I was thinking it's a 53 The battery is under the seat so I was thinking a Super H . Then this morning I read a post that the serial number is stamped under the number one spark plug that number is 358067R1 so now I have no idea what it is . Thanks for any help Mike

I agree with DWV. You have a late 1954 Stage 2 Super H with a distillate engine (A) and a Rockford clutch (J). Last SH serial was 29285. Thus there were only 439 more Super H's built after yours.

Thanks all of you for your help . The reason I wasn't sure of what she was is at one time she had been repainted and a H decal was put on .Everything I read here on the forum made me think I had a super . Thanks again for all your help Mike in Colorado

Believe its a 54 SH, originally distillate fuel.
The starter should be mounted with 3 bolts and to
left side of tractor from center line, versus right
side for stage 1 SH.

Your block should be a C-164 and if my math is close your block serial number would be approx 33565. This number would be stamped in a raised "boss" just below the head and in front of the oil filter. Would help if we could see some pics. What state do you live in? Pat from Wisc

That may be the casting number for the head that you posted. Look under No1 plug for another number. If it's an H it would be a 1940 tractor.
Would be a 1954 if it's a Super H. Hal
