Hi folks, a friend of mine with a 1941 Farmall A has just bought a single furrow plough wich looks as if it mounts under the tractor. Any help and pictures would be a great help. Thanks MJ

Many thanks Hal. I have looked at the photo you told me about and it helps a lot. I may not see the plough for a few weeks but i will keep you posted. Most of the IH tractors sent over to the UK in the 2nd world war were sent without the equipment. I have a Farmall BN i am restoring and it had the IH hand lift lever and mid mounted arms but with a UK made toolbar. The Farmall A plough has ACE body (BOTTOM) on it. I match plough with a UK built B12 2 fw plough behind my B250 tractor. Many thanks for your help. MJ

If you think you'll need a picture I'll make copy & send it to you. Hal
PS: It does show the mounting brackets under the tractor.

MJ, Click on Implement Photos under Galleries to your left. There's an A with a single bottom plow attached. You need to keep clicking on the next set of photos to reach #992-1007. The plow is the IH model A91.

I restored an A about 30 years ago and I have a picture of the same 16-inch moldboardplow mounted on the tractor. It's just a 3/4 side view & doesn't show all the attachment points. If we would have this forum 30 years ago I would've taken some closeup pictures.

We never had a tractor mounted plow on the farm until we had the 1950 Farmall C & it was a two bottom moldboard.

This plow wasn't that difficult to install
all the brackets were on the plow & I just pulled the tractor along side the plow & started hooking
brackets to the tractor. I sent several pictures
to men that had A's and were installing the same plow. Hope some will see your posting and will respond. Hal
