I am about to get a Farmall "Regular" that is in need of restoration. Does anyone have any advice on what books would be helpful and who carries parts? I see quite a bit of parts out there for "F" series and later, but not a lot for "Regulars". Any advice would be appreciated.

any history on early International Harvester will be interesting reading. Evolution of a Tractor published by Stemgas is an exelant work leading up to the development of the Farmall and Farm Power originaly put out by International Harvester and reprinted by the ASAE has a lot of good information.

Get to know Nebraska Cowman. No one better for finding parts or treating you honest. Regulars are easy to restore. Pistons and sleeves are high priced though. Darell Alderson Sigorney IA has many parts such as rings and gaskets (Alderson IH). Have fun! The book I like is the Farmall Regular photo Archive. Get it on EBay for around $14. If you know your engines it is a straight forward teardown and rebuild. For qestions .. ask here. there are a lot of Regular guys on this site.
