You would have to use longer frame rails to use the IH 6 cyl. Maybe off a 560,,, if the frame rail bolt pattern is the same as an M-560 to the bellhousing. The M-560 was the same bellhousing pattern for the engine plate, If your SW6 has a 3 bolt starter, you may get away with using a 560 flywheel and not have to change the starter ring, you would have to measure the backspacing from the engine plate back to the back edge of the starter ring. and see if the SW6 is the same as the 6 cyl. I know on the 460, using the small flywheel, it is 4 inches,, It all comes down to where your starter location is on the bellhousing,, if it like the 450-560, you wont have much trouble with the starter, but if the W6 is like the M bellhousing, you will have to do something with the starter ring, and check backspacing. It can be done, but have to know a bit more about your W6 to know what to use for parts. When I put the 6 cyl in a H, I used a 460 flywheel, removed the 460 starter ring, and cut the flywheel in a lathe to fit the H ring on the 460 flywheel. Then for the clutch,, its a 460 pressure plate, with a Super H clutch disk, wich kept the 10.5 diameter clutch disk, but had the H input shaft spline. Used the H throwout bearing, and workedlike it was made that way from the factory, so Im betting, there is a same combination of IH parts to do the same swap for the M-W6. If the 560 used the same diameter clutch as a Super M, you may be able to use a 560 flywheel, SM disk, and possibly put the SM ring on the 560 flywheel to line up. Sorry so long of a post,,, Im trying to remember all this without going to the books,,,, So, it comes down to which starter you have,,, 2 bolt, or 3. ChadS
