I am ready to buy a farmall but I need to know which model should I look for. My neighbor advises me to get a model after 1953 cause it will have a fast hitch assemble on it. Any ideas?

Size of your wallet makes a difference as well. The M and H should work fine for what you need. I wonder if a C might be smaller than you want for 50 acres. A pull type bush hog and disk won"t need a fast hitch. I found a Farmall 300 for about the same money that did have the fast hitch. With conversion arms, I can use smaller 3 point equipment. If I was you, I'd find something that you like and not worry so much about what other people suggest.

i would recommend a International/Farmall 340, they are right around 35-40hp. We have a 340 utility that we use to plow our driveway, we have a six foot snowblower on the 3-point. and during the summer we have a mower and a couple other things for the three point. Every once in a while we pull a ten foot disk, drill and hay equi[ment with it, it handles it all just fine.

How about a Farmall 340? Same size as a C but newer, and you get live 2 way hydraulics, live PTO, and a fast hitch.

Well you haven't really given enough info for a guess. What you paln on doing with it will matter a lot as far as which tractor to buy.

My neighbor has a super c and that seems about the size that I am looking for.

Ok now that I know what you want to do then heres a couple more questions for you. Do you want a 3 point hitch or something like one?? From what you say an H or M would fit your bill but didn't come with 3 points but they could be added. The Super C I think had a 2 point hitch which could be made in to a 3 point. You might look at some thing like a super c a 140 2?? or even a 300U. Whith that much land you will find you will probably want more then one tractor. Shot I have 44 acres and own 20 tractors, 15 run and the others are parts.

Iffen it were me, given the info provided. I think I would go with an H. It's a little bigger, might be even a tad cheaper but most likely around the same, and more guts. Then there is always the M.....
