White smoke and good compression??

Any ideas on this... I have a Super A and it recently started making white smoke for a few minutes after I starting it. I figured it could be antifreeze/water getting into the cylinder. So I did a compression check to see if I had a blown head gasket. Compression was 135 on all 4 cylinders. Next I checked the oil pan and there was green antifreeze in with the oil. So I must have leak that is allowing the antifreeze to get into the oil. but I'm puzzled by the fact that antifreeze is getting into the combustion cylinder(s) and yet the compression is still good. How can that happen. Seems like if the antifreeze can get into the cylinder then the compression can also get out???

Best way i have found is to drain oil then drop pan. After a day or so look up in engine at bottom of sleeves and you should see which one is leaking as there will be a drop or maybe even a small puddle from which one if any o-ring is leaking. Your head may also the culprit and mite be rusted thru and letting oil in the crankase. Remember theseare 50ys old and bad water over the years does take a toll.

White smoke for a couple minutes run may not be antifreeze- typical symptom of somewhat worn valve guides without seals. Oil leaks down from guides while setting, burns with white smoke exhaust for few minutes after start. Good rings so compression shows high and no more smoke when warm. Anti-freeze in pan on wet sleeve engine could be leak at base of cylinder instead of head/head gasket area- A,B,Cs are this type of engine design.

Have you seen any bubbles in the radiator when the
engine is warmed up & idling? If you do, it could be a headgasket or cracked head. You can apply 4-5 pounds of air pressure to the radiator. Remove the sparkplugs & then crank over the engine to see if coolant blows out.

One of your sleeve's may have a pin hole & is leaking into the sleeve when the tractor is sitting. The seals on your sleeves are known to leak too. The coolant can then leak into the oil pan. The oil pan would need to be removed to check for this. I would drain that engine oil
with the antifreeze. It will remove the oil from the bearings & cause wear. Hal
PS: A new headgasket would be the easiest to repair. I would have the head magnafluxed too.

A small leak might not bleed enough pressure off that you"d notice with a compression test. You"ll probably have to take it apart to find it.
You might find the problem cylinder by looking at the plugs.
