Power steering is plumbed into live hydraulics and won"t work. If you pull the middle hydraulic lever back as to run a hydraulic cylinder it works with a strange noise for about 20 seconds then stops. there is no cylinders hooked up to the outlet when I do this. Whats up with this and how do I correct it. It works great for 20 seconds, I can turn steering either way but then it quits.

Ron,

Are you close to Mpls? I am just NW of Mpls and have a 300 util that is plumbed correctly and have the factory service manuals on the PS. If you want to compare your system to a working one, e-mail me, we'll talk on the phone and set something up.

Ron It could be that the flow divider is bad then when you pull the lever the oil will go to the steering.

Ron,

Sounds like someone left out the flow divider or just plain has it plumbed in wrong.

You hit the remote and then the steering is being fed. A few seconds later, because that little 3 gallon steering motor is the only load, you're up against the pressure relief and the system starts dead heading.

Check to see where the pressure port is plumbed from the pump. It has got to go to a flow divider first.

I think someone has added that power steering in the system downstream. Won't work.

Allan
