Hugh -- The 1st C, I disassmebled the fan and oiled and reassembled according to instructions, as part of my "restoration" process. Finished the tractor, started it for the first time, let it run a while, everything seemed ok, went into the house for 15 minutes--BIG MISTAKE -- came back out, fan had seized, antifreeze all over the place, luckily it had just happened, engine ok -- got one from Steel Wheel Ranch, problem solved. Bought another C last March. Replaced fan belt and put new antifreeze in to get it running -- did not check oil in fan, that was to be done later when I got around working on the tractor. Fan seized while I was standing there. Simply did not want to mess with replacing parts, new, used or otherwise. Simpler just to give the $70 to Mike and be done with it. Not a factory part, but it doesn't bother me. I can see your problem with tariffs, etc -- but I don't have that problem and Steel Wheel Ranch and other suppliers are VERY reliable.
