Oh Man, thats way cool and looks true I. H. now. Think of the value incrcease in the ole girl since you bought it! Should be better for the tax situation too with the farm and all. Bout the only way to pay for these old hunks anymore is to have a sideline that requires tractors to get the job done and the tax man don't look at you with that cold stare!!! Time for me to get to the farm shop to try to finish up the painting on the 350 Farmall. What a pile of work to get these old relics all prettied up. Should be nice though. Need to get on with 10 other projects waiting in line . Migraine

Wow!

You and I are playin' from the same script.

It's amazing how much better it works when the farm covers the "back door". :>)

Have a good one, Howard.

Might want to check the forward pressure reg valve on the hydro The unit has both forward and reverse reg valves.

Well,

It sure acts like it is thrown' oil at the servos. I dunno, I haven't even looked at it yet.

I just think it is a leak somewhere, 'cause the old gal will just dig like anything in reverse.

Throw it forward and it "starts" to act right, but then peters out when the load hits it. If there is just a light load on the tractor, it seems to do okay.

Dunno,

Allan

Allan:

Looks great, and what did you say that thing set you back??

Did your hydro give trouble like the Cowmans, or did it work fine being inside of that 72 degree shop?? My 856 hydraulics have been howling bad in the cold weather in Sw IA -12 Wed morn. Unheated machine shed

Hi Rob,

Really ashamed to tell ya. :>( The backing screen was $175; the grille was $226 and came painted glossy black and made of pot metal!

I’ve got a leak in that hydro somewhere. Been fixin’ lights, remote hydraulics and so forth and then I’m gonna tear into ‘er .

Digs like a badger in reverse both hi and low; under load will just set there and spin the tires. But it is droppin’ out on me in forward and feels like a slippin’ automatic tranny. Will still pull okay, but if I go full stick, then feels like it is slippin’. Pull it back halfway, seems to be fine again.

Something is just getting away on the forward hi pressure. Hope it is that metal line just inside the case??? Maybe the servo motor?

Also, there is an oil leak at the foot-n-inch valve hydraulic line right where it comes up outta the case. Gotta fix that too; maybe the two problems are related, I dunno.

Sure is fun tinkerin’ on the old sow, tho. :>)
