Loaned out my 560 service book one to many times, Have one in the shop to work on now. What is the sleeve to piston measurement allowable to just ring it rather than a sleeve and piston set.Tractor is basicaly an auger tractor.

Manual says .001 - .0045 measured between piston skirt and installed sleeve measured 90 degrees from piston pin. So I would guess anything over .0045 clearance would require sleeve and piston renewal.

Don't have my manual here. Check the fit of the wrist pin to the piston and the fit of the pin to the rod bushing. If there's any doubt about the fit of those parts, don't even mess around trying to reuse them. Those engines are well-known for developing wrist pin knock when they get some hours on them.
