Farmall 806 jumps out of high range as soon as you let out the clutch problem just showed up instantly worked fine until then. Seems to work fine in low and reverse range. I replaced the shifter fork and the shifter sector both showed some wear but it did not help. I am wondering about the sliding gear that the shifter fork moves I can not tell what the internal teeth are like without taking apart the transmission IF any one has any suggestion your help would be greatly appreciated

Could be a broken roller in the cam plate or at one time someone shimmed the T/A wrong and it is just showing up now the best way is to pull the top cover and look or like the other guy said may just be a linkage problem because someone was having trouble finding rev and started playen with the adjustment and not fixing the problem with rev. I have seen this to many times since a littel play here and there will screw everything up .

The problem with this shifting mechanism is too much linkage. Depending on serial # and what may have been repalced before there are two places where the linkage can slip out of synch. One is on the very bottom of the verticle shaft coming down from the shifters, that arm is keyed with a slot in the arm and a 5/16 bolt holds it tight, it may have slipped and the transmission is not going all the way into high. Put it back in synch and tighten or weld, it is cast. The same goes for the arm on the shaft going through the cover, even the newer welded ones brake loose. This problem is almost never due to the gears themselves.
