Wondering if anyone can provide information in regard to the 2nd tag. It is attached just below gear shift lever and has 5 lines of info and reads as follows. 1st line - TRACTOR MOWER MFRS MODEL FAIRWAY 12
2nd line - A.C.C.(or G.)NO 38-3139/P A.C. SERIAL NO W-8545
3rd line - MFR'S TRACTOR SERIAL NO FOS 3373 GROSS WT 3900 LBS
4th line - MFR'S ENGINE SERIAL NO 3373 MAX SPEED 10 MPH
5th line - DATE OF DELIVERY 2-24-38

Has rubber tires. Was painted with 2 coats of yellow, then has a coat of miltary green. Then at some point it was painted red with a brush.

Any ideas as to whom or where this tractor may have been oriinally delivered? Should it be painted yellow or miltary green???

Could you post a picture? See if there's any casting numbers on the engine block. Hal
PS: Not all tractors sold to the miltary had foot throttles. If a vehicle is going to be used in the field by the soldiers it will be painted olive drab. We tested a Cat D7 that was
later shown in the movie "The Green Beret" being carried by a helicopter. It wasn't the same tractor that we tested. They were painted olive drab too.

it may have come from the factory, but who knows, could have been installed by the first buyer. but, that is where the decal for the shifter is. if it goes 10 mph, i would think the rpms would be 2000. yours is very late in production, because fairway 14s started around march of 38. fairways were made to cut grass , so you may have had a sycle mower off the back and run off the pto, or drug a gang mower. i have no idea what the acc stands for. but the tractor serial tag will be on the rear gas tank support, and block number will be next to the fuel pump. they match on the w12 series tractors. pg

as for paint, 37-38 would most likely be red. but,... you may want to go with the color that the first owner painted it. thats up to you, its your tractor. pg

Does it have a foot throttle? The military used a lot IH tractors. They used a lot of Case tractors too. Hal
