I am doing some rewiring on my 404. I have it all done except for the lights. The wires to the lights have been cut and I plan on rewiring them. The tractor is 12 volt and I believe it was 12 volts from the factory, but not sure. My question is the lens 12 or 6 volts. thanks, Jerry

You can read the back of the bulb to see if it's 12V or 6V, or the first time you turn them on you'll know. It should be marked where the wires hook to the bulb if it's still ledgable. If they were 6V they will be real bright, but not for long. Jake

LOL, Jake that's what I'm afraid that they will be bright for a short time. I'll check to see if the voltage is readable on the back of the bulbs. The lights look to be in good condition but won't know until I hook them up. thanks,
Jerry

Jrry, look at it this way. If the lights are six volt now, you will need to buy new 12 volt lights. If indeed the lights you have turn out to be 12 volt, then you are home free. If those lights are 6 volt, and go ka-boom when you connect them, well, you were going to replace them anyhow, weren't you?

Rusty, I see your point however I had planned to save them in case someone needed six volt lights. Even if I saved them more than likely I would not be able to find them later.
thanks again, Jerry

I agree, I can't stand to throw anything away, even when it is pretty much junk, and, like you, I'll probably never find it again.

Not real sure what you are asking but if the tractor is 12 volts, the lights also must be 12 volts.

Rusty, the tractor currently is 12 volts but I'm not sure it came that way. If it was converted to 12 volts the lights could have been 6 volts.
thanks, Jerry
