I need to talk to someone who knows their stuff about 600 650's. My 600 sounds unsmoothand has a small amount of smoke. I rebuilt the injectors($), checked the compression the best I could checked for leaking start valves. Every move made a small improvement but its still not right. When I had the injectors out I noticed that the precups werent installed in the same way in each hole. This is a WD9 head so it has the older injector that comes out easily but how do I get the body and the precups out and willo it make any difference. Also I can determine which cyl is causing the smoke by cracking the bleeder. Any help is appreciated. thanks

Have you tried to change the timing? This would cause smoke and running rough.

A pyrometer that measures into a thousand degrees placed on the exhaust manifold will point to a misfiring diesel cyl.
The manual should show how to remove the injectors, and how they (and the precups) are aligned. I believe it does make a difference.
My experience is with older MDs and I don't know about the bleeders.
