A good leak check of all fittings from the fuel tank to the carb may save You some propane. I occasionally take a cup of warm water with dish soap mixed in and apply to all the fittings with a basting brush or a small paint brush (even the fill valves on the tank). A small leak can release a good bit of $1.85 per gallon propane faster than I can afford. I Always shut off the fuel any time the engine is not in operation. If You are not experienced in re-filling the tank and plan on doing it Your self, You should ask someone knowledgeable about the process for assistance for Your own well being. I have been using a pair of propane M's for several years and they have been trouble free, start easily and aside from the refueling difficulty I am happy with them. You might find it handy to have an emergency hose made up that You can hook to a portable 5 gal tank and connect to the fuel line if You run out of gas in the middle of a field. The local NAPA dealer made mine and it is worth having.

If its like the SM LPG that dad used to have, you should shut the gas valves off every night. To start it, open the vapor valve - the top one on the tank - if its cold out, choke it a little & hit the starter. If its warm enough for the gas to vaporize, it should take right off, push the choke in all the way & you should be good to go. It seemed like once it was running, it never needed the choke again. (We never had to choke it in the summer, only when it was cold out.) Once its was running, we opened the liquid valve & ran it with both valves open until we wanted to shut it off. Close the valves & shut off the switch. We never had an engine heater on it & it used to start in -20 weather here in SD. It was a great tractor, wish I would have bought it at Dads sale. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
