Narrow Front wheel spacing

I am thinking about setting the wheel spacing on my narrow front 300 to the widest setting. I use a loader from time to time on this tractor. I am putting new hardened bolts in.

What are the "goods" & "bads" of setting the wheelsthis wide.

Scott: You best get a good grip on the wheel with them set wide. Every obstacle one front wheel hits is a potential broken wrist. Two of my high school classmates had this happen and a third destroyed a wrist watch. It's bad enough with wheels set narrow, set wide quadrouples the problem. It will not increase stability.

If you will be slogging through a lot of mud, it will keep the wheels from rolling full. We had the front wheels on my dad's H set at the widest setting, with a #31 loader mounted. This was the tractor that loaded silage into the feed wagon for at least 20 years. Never broke a wheel or any other problems.

In my opinion, setting the NF wheels wide will do very little for you anyway.

Setting the front wheel spacing wide with a loader is VERY hard on Your front wheel bearings and cast wheel centers. The Owner's Manuals specifically said not to do that with the adjustable front wheels. I don't think there is a "Good" side to the idea.
