looking at an 826 with a turbo, most likely an M and W, my question is how do they mount to the exhaust manifold (is it like the 414/436/466 or different), and can the turbo be removed without getting an different manifold. and last, what are those turbos worth thanks

If you are wanting to remove the M&W turbo from the engine to return the 826 to original equipment, you will need the cast piece that KB826 described as being bolted between the manifold and muffler. It is described in IH parts book as Exhaust Manifold Elbow (also need the gasket).Probably need a new original air tube between the filter and intake manifold as they usually were cut to install turbo. Remove everything associated with turbo ,plug the oil supply and return holes, install original exhaust elbow, add muffler or straight pipe. You should also return injection pump to original settings if it had been adjusted upward as instructed by turbo installation manual.

There's a cast piece that is bolted between your manifold and muffler. The kit will come with a replacement for that piece, which the turbo will bolt to. You'll need to make some slight modifications to the air intake hoses. You'll need to run a oil line from a main oil galley plug on the right side of the engine to the turbo, usually those kits have an add-on oil filter that goes between the main oil galley and the turbo. Finally, you'll need to run a oil return line from the turbo back to the engine. Remove the injection pump drive gear access cover from the front engine cover, drill and tap it for 1/2" pipe thread, reinstall the cover, and screw in a 90 degree elbow and a hose barb. Run a 1/2" hose from the turbo back to the cover. Do not use heater hose, the oil will eat it from the inside out, you need "oil cooler hose", I know your local Deere dealer will have the stuff, Case-IH probably has it too. Seen those kits advertized for around $500 used. Might want to have the turbo rebuilt before installing, the M&W on our 826 blew a seal and started pumping oil into the intake manifold the first time we plowed with it.
