Well, I made a deal on the 1959 240 utility today.
Hope to get it home this weekend. Needs carb, distributor and hydraulic pump. Anybody got any of these to spare? Seriously though, it has what looks like a 3 point hitch, kinda odd looking. I'll try to get some pics soon so I can get some helpful advice on this YOUNG tractor. Kevin

You wouldn't happen to have part#'s off of any of those parts would you? I know of a pile or 2 of parts, but the guy really doesn't know what most of the stuff goes on. Or will the parts fit off of other models?

most of the parts I found came from a B or C the only problem I had was with the hydraulic pump lines attaching to the pump but no big deal just had to file out the bolt holes --if you have trouble finding where the hydraulic oil goes let me know -- took a couple of days and ALOT of phone calls for me to find out !!!!

I'll bet that 3pt has a hyd.cylinder at rear of tractor.that's the way they made those there is a pin hole underneath that you can lock cyl. in place when you lower lift it bears down hard with right implent(grader box) it will lift back wheels of of the ground.Ihad a 240 utility a fine tractor with wheel weights from Super A on rear it will out pull most anything in it's class Good luck with the wife!

That's a great idea...just needs a slight modification...the lots of $$$$$$$ part. Lack of that is what would put most of us in it!! If you could get it on the market cheap, you could retire just off of the antique tractor and car buyers alone!!!

Ya know, I NEVER thought of that. Of course, I do happen to have some demonstrator models, and I do believe that I have , over time, gotten to where I ( I mean customers...) like the improved versions... The other alternative is to teach your wife to unlearn how to count!!!!! Gee, I am just full of useless information tonight. Or maybe several nights..... ..... ..... ..... ... QR
