What holds the crankshaft pulley in place on a cub? It is out of alignment with the fan pulley. Will I have to take the radiator or front end off to get to it to fix it?? What to do to keep it from moving again. Thanks----

the pulleys are pressed on. You can use a threaded rod with some spacers to pull it further on if it's not too tight. If you leave the bolt installed you can't use a hand crank on it.

Those pulleys are usually hard to remove. I think the crankshaft is tapped with 1/2" NC threads. You may be able to use a grade 8 cap screw and a flat washer to pull the pulley back in alignment with the fan pulley. If you do get it aligned I would install a lock washer on that cap screw. Hal

I choose red locktite on clean threads for retaining bolts like the one needed.
I have seen too many spiral lock washers split in half (either causing immediate loosness, or fall in half when removed).

That was going to be my second recommendation if
he still had a problem with it coming loose.

I used red locktite on the yoke of my hydraulic cylinder on my garden tractor. The yoke kept unscrewing from the hydraulic cylinder and after
using loctite that solved the problem. Hal
